SIR – In the belief in freedom of speech and fair play, could it be possible for your paper to back another petition to see how many people would be in favour of allowing the EDL the chance to hold a march?
Mr Meszaros stated there was an ‘overwhelming response’ from every sector of the Bradford community to ban the proposed march. It could be argued that 10,000 signatures is an insignificant proportion of the 450,000-plus that abide in the Bradford district.
Does this mean that 440,000 are in favour of the march? This could be the T&A’s chance to further democracy and clear any confusion.
