SIR – Paradox Britain. We spend billions on green issues, yet each and every person is a “polluter”, and thanks to politicians, our population is set to sky-rocket.
China and India may have large populations, but the vast majority are on slave wages or starving.
Traffic jams and pollution, yet we are encouraged to drive by unreliable bus services in some areas, and car scrappage schemes.
Crime is rising, yet a 19-year-old from Chelmsford admitted to 600 burglaries, and the judge spared him jail the first time in court.
Also, crime levels on public transport were so frightening the Labour party didn’t dare put the statistics into the public domain!
The coalition Government is to be applauded on its proactive action on the UK’s deficit.
It has shown its determination to tackle the problem of “non-jobs” (council and government) which are still being advertised and the eight million citizens who are “economically inactive”.
