SIR – Re the front page story (T&A, May 3) about the tragic death of seven-year-old Israr Saad on Mayo Avenue.
To lose a child in any circumstances is simply devastating, to lose one in a traffic collision, which may have been preventable, does not bear thinking about.
I lost my daughter, who was 34 at the time, in a collision and now, almost seven years on, I still miss her every day, and will do so as long as I am alive.
I know that all of the circumstances surrounding young Israr’s death will be aired at the inquest, and if further traffic management is needed, it will be carried out.
My condolences to the family.
Brian Pickford, Summerbridge Crescent, Eccleshill
