SIR – I think the Aireborough Civic Society should take a back seat and look at the wider view on aviation in 2010, and especially Leeds-Bradford Airport, and of what seems a problem for them.
In this day and age, air travel has become part of the working man’s life as it enables him to seek other countries abroad and also to broaden the horizons of the children.
Leeds-Bradford has, therefore, been refurbished and enlarged to enable this to happen in our district, creating jobs in the process.
As for helicopters... they are another essential part of this area, and are used for help at serious accidents and fires and to ferry people who are seriously injured to various hospitals to get treatment.
Perhaps you would prefer them to walk there?
You cannot stop progress, so I suggest if you do not like what you hear or see, then the only option left for you is use earplugs or, failing that, move!
