SIR – The first election debate on TV was a bit like watching the Boys Brigade against Dads’ Army.
Nick Clegg and David Cameron’s performances were of the highest order most of the time, but they were up against a formidable opponent in Gordon Brown.
When all the debates have finished and come May 6, I hope the electorate decide to give Gordon and his team a further term in office.
