SIR – Congratulations to Bradford’s Ahmadiyya Muslim Association for launching the second phase of their peace campaign under the slogans “Love for all, Hatred for none” and “Loyalty, freedom and peace” (T&A, April 10).

But what a contrast this is to all the negativity we hear from some Muslim leaders, such as those at the Muslim Council of Britain, whose sources of inspiration include Hasan al-Banna (1906-49), founder of the insidious Muslim Brotherhood, and Mawlana Abu Mawdudi (1903-79), both advocates of supremacist Islam over Western secular, liberal democracy.

The Muslim Council of Britain claims to be moderate, but there’s absolutely nothing moderate about striving to transform society, via a process of Islamisation into something alien to its tradition and history. Alan O’Day Scott, Idlecroft Road, Bradford
