SIR – If the Tories thought the 2.5 per cent VAT cut during the recession was derisory, why the furore when it was reinstated?
And do they think their promise of a tax break worth £2.88 per week to reward marriage will have us seeing queues at register offices? I don’t think so.
As for them saying they will save the DSS millions by axeing benefits for three years for those caught fiddling for a third time, they might like to know that the Department of Work and Pensions has no knowledge of anyone doing so.
The Tories have made us wait months before disclosing any of their policies, then they come up with this bunkum. Unbelievable.
