SIR – So Brian Holmans (Letters, April 13) thinks reducing the drink-drive limit is going to save lives?
Perhaps if he studied the figures, the limit set some 45 years ago seems to have worked very well.
To say that those who have followed the law for all that time have suddenly become “dangerous drivers” is both stupid and pathetic. It also begs the question as to why it has even been raised as an issue.
I suspect those who do flout the law and insist on driving while over the limit or high on drugs, will not get caught in the net of lowering the prescribed alcohol limit.
This is not about licencees’ livelihoods, it is about common sense.
What a shame we are without it!
