SIR None of the three proposals for the former Odeon site include retaining and restoring the building to its former glory.
If BCR's idea of retaining the Odeon means rebuilding just the Towers (Casa Mela design) they must think all the campaigners are complete pushovers!
The three-week consultation period is ridiculous and another tactical move by BCR. Consultation should give people a real choice but the lack of a fourth proposal (Odeon refurbishment) shows unbelievable arrogance on BCR's part.
It makes any "consultation" on this issue a complete farce when thousands have already signed a petition to save the Odeon. How many, I wonder, will feel so passionately about the three monstrous proposals?
It is quite clear that saving the Odeon was never on the agenda but I think BCR underestimates how passionately thousands of Bradfordians feel about this wonderful building.
We'll fight to the bitter end. The Odeon is going nowhere!
