SIR Suggestions that politicians should "take notice" of BNP voters and amend their policies accordingly are garbage!

Politicians, local or national, should only take notice of bigotry, ignorance and cynical attempts to antagonise one community against another, in terms of how to stop it.

Too much has been said about "not giving the BNP the oxygen of publicity". Too little has been done to expose their vile filth to the electorate.

The price of our freedom is eternal vigilance. That means opposing the BNP at every opportunity. Let them speak, let them shout out loud then show them up for the fascists that they are.

Events have shown New Labour to be out of touch with their roots. Some people have voted for different political parties, some have been deceived by the lunatic far right.

Too often councillors are seduced by City Hall. Their power is not there, it is among the people in your ward.

As a candidate in Wyke, I bust my gut 12 months a year, delivering leaflets, knocking on doors, speaking and listening to people, writing letters and attending meetings.

Do that and the BNP will crawl back under a millionaire's brick from whence it came.
