SIR – I notice in the letters page recently people condemning the Human Rights Act. I wrote similar letters over a year ago and was slagged down for my efforts.

I believe that my comments at the time stated that the Act was a dire threat to British society – those words stand now more than ever.

I will bet that our Government now wish that they had never allowed this Act to be implemented. It is a bit late in the day for that now, though, as the out-of-control train is speeding ahead.

Corrupt solicitors and other legal parasites are using this Act to make their fortunes by ensuring that the scum of the earth escape just punishments.

This, and other issues which are all contributing to the destruction of the country, should be brought to mind on May 6, when we all put our crosses in those little boxes.
