SIR – Around noon on Wednesday, January 13, I saw a PCSO dash across the bottom end of Manchester Road, dodging traffic within metres of a pedestrian crossing and at a spot where about two years ago a teenager was killed doing exactly the same thing.
Luckily there were no children around to witness this incident, and his fellow officer sensibly used the crossing. Nevertheless, I hope he never repeats his stupid behaviour for it is his duty to uphold the law and lead by example.
