SIR – It is incredulous that cats are being dumped at RSPCA centres because of the credit crunch (T&A, June 16). With fresh milk costing 50p a litre (1.75 pints) at Farmfoods, and Asda selling sausages at 2p each, it’s just about the lamest excuse ever.
I wonder how many of these so-called “pet lovers” smoke, drink, possess mobile phones or even own a car? We are not living in Dickensian conditions as some would have us believe.
