SIR - For the few readers who don't know what a treasure the National Media Museum is this might be news. For the many who know it probably won't be.

A good-sized group who attended a TV Heaven event called Small Screen, Big Stars' had a real treat. We looked at the careers of Tony Hancock, the Steptoes (Corbett and Brambell), Frankie Howerd and the cringe-making (and I mean this sincerely) Hughie Green.

It was amazing that the talented young lady who gave the presentation, and unless she was like the never-ageing Dorian Grey, born well after these TV giants had fallen off their perches, knew so much about her subject and had a feel' for TV's Golden Age that was just right. A great afternoon!
