SIR - It is not the first time Bradford Council chiefs have had to apologise about flag-flying after a powow'. In fact, it is just two years since.
Remember the decision during the World Cup not allowing England flags to be waved from taxis because it was a health and safety issue, with the then council leader Margaret Eaton putting it down to an over-zealous council employee and it was overturned?
It would be good to know exactly who was present at this memorable decision-making meeting. I have no doubt Tony Reeves was present, as he now claims the health and safety issue was overstated.
If Salman Mather, whose grand title is Director of Democratic Services, really believes in democracy, he should immediately resign because he is now the whipping boy for his superiors.
Could I also apply for the flag flying' job, promising equality to all, even the obscure people who manage to endanger staff' at the moment? What's more, I will do it for nowt.
Neither the dithering height of the City Hall, nor the wind or rain will prevent me from this death-defying job!
