SIR - Bradford & District Older People's Alliance is extremely concerned over the continuing closing of Post Offices.

We regret, despite weak consultations, the Government is determined to ignore the voice of people affected and just shut this essential service down.

Don't the decision makers listen to what this policy is doing to the communities, the problems for older people, mothers with young children, the disabled and those without their own transport?

Bus services are being reduced, and indeed cut altogether, so how are people expected to travel further to use the essential service of a local Post Office.

Often it is the hub of a community, taken away it leaves a huge gap in local services and vulnerable people in particular suffer yet again.

BOPA speaks for all the older people throughout the Bradford district but recognises the closures of another 13 post offices affects all people, young and old, the vulnerable and those living in rural areas.

Time to get this message through - we want good not depleted provision. Wake up, MPs, and listen to what your voters are saying before you are out of a job.
