SIR - I find it strange. The Irish, Scots and the Welsh treat their national days with pride. They celebrate all guns blazing.
But mention St George's Day in England and your either, racist, anti-integration, or daft.
I am sick and tired of this country paying an embarrassing tribute to the day set aside to England. I can't think of another country that treats their national day with such disdain.
Now I know why we have no national pride left. I shudder to think how we will receive the next royal to the throne, or our noble' warriors back from Iraq etc.
Maybe we should have a national flag that is neutral in colour. I know, white for surrender - oh no, that wouldn't be politically correct.
