SIR - There is every reason to feel confident about the Westfield development.
Ground works have started and are going on, Westfield have established offices in the city centre, Debenhams and Marks & Spencer are signed as anchor tenants plus the Arcadia Group is to open many new stores, and there will be many more to follow.
And despite the economic gloom, Leeds, Wakefield and Barnsley are beginning to press ahead with new shopping developments, so there is confidence in the future of this sector.
A city the size of Bradford needs another department store. Shame House of Fraser or John Lewis cannot be signed up to trade alongside Debenhams.
With Eastbrook Hall nearing completion, the Leeds Road and Hall Ings area will be transformed when the Westfield development finally begins to take shape.
The future for Bradford is looking great.
