SIR - National Doughnut Week (May 10-17) is fast approaching and I would like to appeal to your readers to support this charity event.

Everyone deserves a treat from time to time and this fun campaign is a perfect way to treat someone you know to a delicious doughnut.

All you need to do is to purchase doughnuts from participating bakers displaying National Doughnut Week posters.

By holding a doughnut-themed event at work, or with family and friends, you will be helping to raise money for The Children's Trust, which provides care, education and therapy for children with multiple disabilities and complex health needs.

So bakers, if you haven't done so, please register now and get baking and all you lovely people get buying. By doing so, you will be helping to raise money for some very special children.

For ideas on how to get involved, plus celebrity doughnut secrets, visit thechildrenstrust.org.uk/ doughnuts.

The Trust's current fundraising appeal aims to raise more than £7 million to build a purpose-designed rehabilitation centre for children with acquired brain injuries.

To make credit or debit card donations, please call (01737) 365027.
