SIR - The news that the Yorkshire Air Show may be cancelled due to health and safety reasons is unbelievable.
Not only will it deprive the local economy and small businesses within the area of the airfield, but Yorkshire tourism as a whole.
I have been a few times to see the show and it's been a really enjoyable day out.
Not only do you go to see the aircraft fly and ground display aircraft, but also the local shops.
When we have air displays at these types of airfields it's a tribute to all who served in the RAF during peace and wartime and all who served in bomber command - Elvington was a Halifax bomber base during Second World War.
It's part of Yorkshire heritage and history and shouldn't be lost.
