SIR - Nice to see the smiling face of Zoe Marston, left, manager of the Cottingley Cornerstone Centre, due to receiving a £300,000 Lottery grant (T&A, April 1).
I would suggest that she, along with the members of the Cullingworth Over-60s, who received £5,000, do not recollect the furore, from the opposition in Parliament, when the Conservative Government of John Major brought the bill that brought the lottery into being.
I also get the impression that some of those who opposed the creation of the lottery are quite pleased to take the credit for the amounts being distributed.
