SIR - It must be the first time I have written in support of Brian Holmans and I know he'll be surprised.
His comments on the voluntary' ban on plastic bags were very reasonable.
Green councillor Martin Love does not keep abreast of events, perhaps, in the Greens' relentless pressure to drive us back to the dark ages.
The use of plastic bags, which, I read, use two per cent of our oil reserves and in no way create methane in landfill, did not reduce in number when Dublin introduced its ban - far bigger than Hebden Bridge's.
Paper, all of which cannot be recycled, does create methane.
