SIR - The T&A Editorial (August 27) made it sound as though Government u-turns are a bad thing.
On the contrary, as advice and circumstances change then u-turns are very necessary and should usually be viewed as a good thing.
Everyone is learning all the time about this previously unknown virus but, I am sure, doing the best they can with the information available at the time.
Whilst Education Secretary Gavin Williamson has certainly not covered himself in glory, the same Editorial unnecessarily called him "the former fireplace salesman" as though this was something derogatory.
At least Mr Williamson had a proper job before entering Parliament, rather than the too many political animals who have done nothing whatsoever outside the Westminster bubble.
