SIR - It is good news that common sense has prevailed on the installation of a proposed 5G mast in front of the National Science and Media Museum (T&A, August 29).
So I question why, in a residential area of Heaton, in front of the Hare and Hounds, is it considered acceptable to erect not one, not two but three such monstrosities? One of which resembles a Saturn 5 rocket on a launch pad, along with their large communications cabinets, all highly conspicuous at the back of the footpath.
Whilst we all accept technological progress has to be made, their appears to have been little consideration for abusing the environment in this instance.
