SIR - Eric Firth makes it perfectly clear on two items.

Firstly, he dislikes England, as he is always moaning about the British monetary system. If Mr. Firth wants the euro, then go live in Europe.

I may live in the United States but I still like to see the Queen on the British pound and hope it stays that way. It is the Royal Family that draws Americans and other nationalities to England to see the Crown Jewels, Buckingham Palace, etc.

Secondly, he certainly dislikes the Americans. People in the US save up for years to visit their roots, mainly Italy and Ireland. They don't flash their cash around anymore, and if Mr Firth travelled more around the world, he would know this.

Days gone by, before my time, the Americans did spend lots of money, but now they tend to be more frugal.

And for more information, Americans are a mixed race. They are made up of every country in this world. The real Americans are the American Indians, so that's a little history for you.
