SIR - How much longer is Bingley's Alan Chapman going to peddle the line that "English" taxpayers fund free services in Scotland?
Many of my acquaintances living in England are of Welsh, Scottish and Irish origin or descent and pay tax here, and likewise I've known many of English origin or descent in Scotland.
To try and classify the population according to ancient boundaries is playing the nationalists' own game.
Please, let's have Mr Chapman justify the squandering of Scottish North Sea oil revenue - particularly during the Thatcher years - in keeping people on the dole in England rather than spending it on the people of Scotland.
