SIR - Your article dated June 4 reports on Bradford Council's plan for new sports hubs.

I write to you concerning the document that underpins the resulting “strategy” - Bradford Council Pitch Strategy 2019.

Anyone who has played sport at grassroots level for any length of time will notice glaring errors in this document and assertions that are simply pure fantasy.

As far as the council's strategy is concerned, it is barely a decade since millions were wasted at Myra Shay and yet they propose to do the same again.

This will be will be a complete waste of public money, doled out it would appear, on lines far apart from sporting need. It must surely be some coincidence that the areas the benefit the most are Labour controlled?

And they keep saying money is tight?
