SIR - It is noticeable in all the political chaos recently that some people are more often calling other people extremist for simply disagreeing with their politics.

The so-called ERG group including Jacob Rees-Mogg has been described in this way just for wanting what people voted for, a clean break from the EU.

Jeremy Corbyn has also described Sajid Javid's decision to revoke Shamima Begum's UK citizenship as extreme.

More broadly, anyone who now doesn't subscribe to the liberal establishment view on any matter is labelled extremist. Commentators with conservative views are now being stopped from speaking at universities, where it appears that students are being told what to think, not how to think. The thought police are taking control.
