Landlord and landlady of the Bridge Tavern
SIR - I was most interested to read in Saturday's T&A that the Bridge Tavern just off Manchester Road is still doing well.

For 30 years up to 2006 I worked just on the road from "the Bridge" and spent many a happy lunch time and after work session in there.
In those days you could also choose from the Old Lane and the Prince and on our way into town for the bus home, stop off at the Bod or the Yarn Spinners for a cheeky one or perhaps two. Those were the days.
Keep up the good work Freddie. Hope to call in soon to catch up and reminisce.
