SIR - The much maligned BBC has once again proved to be popular with viewers over the Christmas period, the top five most watched programmes were produced by the BBC.
The BBC is consistent, unlike Sky who are reported to be planning to charge pubs a further £600 for showing sports events in their licensed premises.
On Boxing Day I went to my local to watch Leeds United on Sky's red button service only to find that the service was unavailable in the pubs, for reasons unknown, and it wasn't just Leeds fans that were affected.
Pubs need to stick together and refuse to pay any extra cash for Sky's sport services.
