SIR - We are all supposed to be part of the same country but, it seems there are are some who are treated much better than others. The think-tank, the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) has revealed bigger cuts in public spending in the North than in the South. Spending in the North fell by £6.3 billion but has risen by £3.2 billion in the south since 2009-10.
LETTER OF THE DAY: Green Cross Code Man wouldn't be so daft
This is yet another example of the North-South divide, which shows no sign of changing. What was that Conservative conference phrase? Oh yes, "Building a country that works, for all the people."
