SIR - In his full-page article in the T&A on December 11, Philip Davies, MP for Shipley, did not tell us if he had sent in a letter of no confidence in Mrs May as Tory party leader. Has he done so since writing the article, and sent your paper a copy? Or are his criticisms of her just waffle?

Will he vote for “no confidence” motion in her as leader?

On the main issue, Davies admits he is disappointed by the result of voting “Leave” in the referendum. He blames May, but any leader has to find a route to defend UK manufacturing industries. Davies reckons a “strong” leader would have stood up to the Europeans and threaten to leave with no deal. He and his Brexiteer pals believe Germany would be desperate for trade with UK and would compromise.

He is kidding himself. A German business leader gave these figures:- German exports go six per cent to UK and 60per cent to the rest of Europe (rest to USA, Japan etc) Will Davies tell readers of one Bradford business which exports their products and wants to see “no deal”?
