SIR - I write to continue the complaints from exasperated 680 bus users in the Heaton area where our unreliable half hourly bus service has reduced to hourly and has worsened, causing serious problems for workers and students for St Bede's School.

The new timetable came in on October 28. Here is one passenger’s experience of the first month:

Week 1: One cancellation - no replacement. One breakdown - no replacement. One instance of driver using wrong stand at Interchange.

Week 2: Two services cancelled - no replacements and 62 minutes to wait.

Week 3: November 11: The 11.05am service from Heaton to Bradford cancelled, causing passengers to miss the Cenotaph memorial service. Two instances of bus using wrong Interchange stand, leaving passengers behind. One service delayed due to breakdown.

Week 4: November 19: One service 10 minutes late, one 40 minutes late. One cancellation - no replacement.

The problems are compounded by the service being split between two bus companies. Our complaints are logged but not resolved. No apologies, no improvement.

We hope the Telegraph and Argus can get an explanation for this appalling service from First Bus and Yorkshire Tiger.
