SIR - Having abdicated their duty by handing a huge decision to the general public, a monumental mistake and undertaken for dubious reasons, the government, along with the rest of the House of Commons cannot work out between them how the Brexit question should be answered.
We have a deeply divided Tory party that finds it impossible to compromise in any way, and negotiating with themselves rather than the EU, and an opposition that is using the whole process as a vehicle to bring on a general election.
I am a Labour Party supporter who would like nothing more than to see the party in government, however this is not the time to be using Brexit as a political tool.
Both parties are behaving in a manner that is not in the best interests of the country and I firmly believe that they should not be allowed a Christmas recess until one way or another, the issue is settled, be it the ''negotiated'' deal or retain the status quo.
Under no circumstances should a no deal scenario be allowed to happen.
