SIR - It is interesting to watch two of your ideological foes arguing against each other hoping they both lose. This has happened several times recently on news programmes as feminists have clashed with the gender alignment campaign because one believes in the promotion of women and the other seems to believe in the abolition of gender altogether.

One thing they do agree on is even more gender neutral language such as salesperson instead of salesman and the CBeebies now replacing the word snowman with snowpeople.

But why is it that when it comes to negative terms like school boy error, conman and man-flu, they are still quite happy to stay with man or boy?

This is yet another example of the fact that these movements are only interested in equality or alignment where it suits them. And the mystery is why does our society as a whole kowtow to this nonsense?
