SIR - If protesters are so concerned about fracking’s impact/safety on our environment/landscape/roads, why not protest about speeding drivers? Also, why not ask: “Which imbecile (landowner) certified 60mph limits for country roads? For haven’t humans racing cars on them, destroyed a great deal of green, pleasant and productive farm land?" Not to mention, horses, riders, hens, hedgehogs, pheasants, red squirrels; plus every poor farm labourer and fruit picker on a bicycle!

Floods cause a build-up of carbon dioxide, methane and nitrogen gases, in soil, air, and lungs. Ultimately, roots and asthma sufferers, can suffocate and die.

So, why not demand far healthier/safer/fairer 20mph speed limits? Doesn’t driving at 60mph, heat-up planet Earth (our home) to much the same degree as our homes/hospitals would be, if the central heating was increased from 20 degrees to a melting-hot 60?

Might supporting RoadPeace (the national charity for road crash victims) reduce demand for oil, and ultimately, lead to world peace?

Can pens be mightier than swords? Also, shouldn’t (fresh-green) bicycles be mightier than (oily-black) 4x4s, i.e. ‘Kings of the Road’?
