SIR - It’s worrying to think that it was just over a year ago since the last satirical spectacle of a Conservative party conference. ‘Mamma Maya’ is certainly not going to add to such legendary movers as Michael Jackson or James Brown anytime soon. However she made a good impersonation of Metal Mickey from the early 80s Saturday teatime show and like him she had more in common with Ted Rogers than Buck Rogers, however this distracts from what is more disturbing.

She promises an end to austerity and a tax haven Brexit, so without sensible taxation or an investment strategy to fund this then she must be hoping on a post Brexit free market economic miracle to deliver us. This must involve one of those elusive magic money trees which are apparently harder to harness than a neutrino. The icing on the cake being that she has re-marketed herself as a ‘centrist’.

All this will require cult like faith to digest. Unlike Alice, I don’t believe three impossible things before breakfast.
