SIR - My name is Mr Elliott. I will be 75 years old on October 22 and I suffer from Dementia.

When I called in to my bank Barclays the other day, my mind was very bad. The girl at the desk asked me who my solicitor was so we could proceed with our dealings. Fortunately they know me at the bank and are very helpful to me. I told them I could not remember but I knew it was very local.

One of the very kind managers saw the situation I was in - because I told them it was a local solicitor he took me outside and took me for a walk around the local streets to see if I could remember any of the solicitors offices that he showed me but unfortunately I could not.

I would very much like to thank him for taking the time and trouble to go out of his way to help me as he knew I suffered from Dementia. I am still taken aback at this man's kindness to me.

M Elliott
