SIR - "Game changing" 20m plans have been announced for Leeds Bradford Airport (T&A, September 14) which, according to chief executive David Laws, will "see an airport that becomes fit for purpose."
Whilst much of what is planned is to be welcomed, it can surely still be argued that, even when completed, the airport will not be fully fit for the 21st Century.
Yeadon is the highest airport in the UK, and is not a pleasant place in inclement weather. Passengers should really not have to put up with the majority having to be walked or bussed across the apron, but it seems that this will not change.
What is needed is a substantial increase in the number of air bridges linked to the terminal building. Without this the airport will not, in my view, be fully fit for purpose as suggested.
