SIR - Correspondent C Ackroyd (T&A, May 5) is correct to highlight civic uncertainty about spaciousness in Keighley Town where Bradford College once stood.
Open spaces attract people to town centres not brand new ugly buildings which too often remain empty.
Bradford replicates the problem on a grander scale with proposals to build offices on the former Tyrls police station site.
I'll go further, relocate the adjacent Magistrates Court adding even more space to Centenary Square and the mirror pool.
A new HS3 station, the Alhambra, Odeon and listed City Hall all as backdrop would give visitors a wow factor welcome to our city.
All we need is the strength and confidence to do it.
John Pennington, Leader, Bradford Conservative Group, City Hall.
