SIR - There has been much coverage of the recent vote in parliament over changes to free school meals with Labour claiming that over a million children could miss out on a hot dinner.
In fact, the Children's Society, who they use to support their argument, have said "no child currently receiving free school meals will have them taken away" and the government has said that 50,000 more children will receive free school meals by 2022. For an independent view readers might like to take a look at channel4.com/news/factcheck/factcheck-labour-aren't-telling-the-full-story-about-free-school-meals.
It's also worth remembering that ALL children in reception and years one and two of primary school receive free school meals since 2014, a policy that was introduced when David Cameron was Prime Minister.
