SIR – I would like to take my disabled wife to watch Bradford City but this may not be possible as she uses a wheelchair. I don’t know if City cater for this and have a disabled parking bay next to the ground.
I would like to take her to see the team again and to ask why they sold Wells to Huddersfield and Hanson to Sheffield United, two players who knew how to score goals.
Changing to the Premier League, I watched Match of the Day recently; the Chelsea line-up consisted of one British-born player, Cahill. The Arsenal line-up had just Walcott, the rest from overseas.
Years ago we could watch an English club playing in the European Cup; most players were British with possibly one foreign player. We could watch a First Division game, the whole 22 players British born. Today England will never win a major trophy as there aren’t enough good enough English players in the Premier League.
There should be a limit on the amount of foreign players signed by a club so our home-grown youngsters can get a chance of first team football.
