SIR - The parliamentary interventions of our MP Philip Davies seem to getting ever stranger.
On Thursday, September 17, during Business questions, he asked for a further debate on the plastic bag charges, which come into effect soon.
He seems to think that the charges are onerous and unfair on shoppers.
I think that what is really unfair is the clogging of rivers and seas by plastics, the danger to animal life that ensues and that the hardworking taxpayer has to pay for the clean ups.
Perhaps he needs to take a trip along the River Aire to see the problems these bags make.
