It is fair to say that Bradford City has recognised that it has not covered itself in glory over the issuing of tickets for the club’s FA Cup quarter final with Reading next month.

But it is also fair to say officials quickly recognised there was going to be an issue with the allocation and have since done everything in their power to ensure every season ticket holder is able to attend.

It is sad this row has somewhat overshadowed City’s fantastic achievement in reaching the last eight of England’s most prestigious football cup competition.

The frustration of season ticket holders who were left unsure if they would be able to get to the game after the initial allocation of tickets was sold out very quickly, is, though, more than understandable.

These are loyal supporters who have paid to cheer on the club week-in, week-out.

The club has recognised that, issuing an apology along with a pledge to ensure every season ticket holder will be able to get in.

It has now acted to ensure this happens, by opening up an extra 400 seats in an area of the ground not normally used, and promising these will be allocated to as many of those season ticket holders still waiting as possible.

There is no doubt that the club was caught by surprise by the demand for this game, and it has been playing catch-up ever since.

It is also clear, though, that since that initial miscalculation, City officials have done everything they can to put things right, and it is only fair and proper to give them full credit for the way they have gone about doing that.
