SIR – It seems that David Cameron aspires to follow Blair through the revolving door to personal wealth via the well-trodden road of being a US poodle. How else can anyone explain his recent decision to send British troops to Kiev? (In an advisory and training role?).

Only two weeks ago Angela Merkel and Francoise Hollande apparently experienced a simultaneous ‘moment of political clarity’ and finally realised that America are hell-bent on stirring up serious trouble between Russia and Europe. The two leaders brokered a peace deal between Kiev and the Russian-speaking separatists of East Ukraine. That peace appears to be holding.

America is incandescent of course. How dare these pesky Europeans broker peace deals without their express permission? Since then, United Arab Emirates (another US puppet) have sold arms to the ‘impoverished’ Ukraine Army and now Cameron stirs the pot by sending British servicemen to Kiev. Truly, it is as if the marathon peace talks never happened.

Perhaps Cameron believes stirring up military action in Ukraine may do for him what the Falklands did for Thatcher? I hesitate to mention that Russia differs from Argentina mostly by the 8000 nuclear weapons aiming west.
