Square event should pay for monitoring
SIR - A Chief Inspector of Bradford District Police says that officers will be present to “monitor” an event in Centenary Square.
This is to ensure that people using this location are able to go about their business.
When the police monitor a football match, the club has to pay, so by the same token, should not the organisers of an event which requires police presence also be liable to cover the cost?
