SIR - Good old Marks & Spencer! They are to invest £200 million in reducing their carbon output by becoming more energy-efficient, using renewable energy, and getting rid of their waste without using landfill.

However, an audit of my current clothing shows that my shirt came from Indonesia, the jumper from Sri Lanka, underpants from Egypt, trousers from Turkey and the unlabelled socks from some other distant source.

I am wearing a carbon nightmare bought in Darley Street.

Perhaps M&S should invest in renewable energy in all these countries to defray some of the clothes miles.
