SIR - Bradford City Council might learn something from their colleagues in Leeds about easing traffic flow along roads used by both buses and HGVs.
As two roads I use on a regular basis had the same problem, that is being used for a purpose they were never intended – all-day car parking.
Green Lane, Yeadon, was for years like a park and ride terminal, making all kinds of difficulties for HGVs and buses trying to negotiate it. Gain Lane, Fagley in Bradford, is even worse.
Leeds, in its wisdom, has introduced a single yellow line restricting parking between 8am and 6pm on said Green Lane.
Bradford meanwhile does nothing as usual at Gain Lane, or at the other abortion New Line, Greengates, and Harrogate Road junction with still no provision for pedestrians or filters on the lights to allow vehicles turning across the main flow, in spite of people complaining for years.
