SIR - My subject is a contradiction in terms - it is impossible to think of Saddam Hussein and at the same time attribute the word respect to anything about him.
I try to be Christian in my everyday life insofar as I try to treat people with respect but when it comes to Saddam, all I can think is "I am absolutely fed up of reading/hearing about the lack of respect shown at his execution.
I am a peaceful person as a rule but I would not have been averse to Saddam being disposed of in the same way as he disposed of his "enemies".
A more odious specimen of humanity cannot possibly imagined by any right-thinking person. The world is a much cleaner place now.
