SIR - It seems everything in our news is about Rottweilers and not other breeds which seems a little unfair as it makes out Rottweilers attack people all the time.

This is rubbish as I have owned a Rottweiler for over a year and he's been brought up as a family pet. He's one of the most gentle dogs you will ever come across.

An incident happened a while back where my girlfriend caught some children in a neighbour's garden teasing my dog.

We have fencing around, so the dog could not get out. The kids thought their actions very funny and were old enough to know better.

What if my dog had got out and attacked them? Is this the dog's fault? No, but would the police take this incident into account? The answer is probably not as it's my word against the victims, so the dog would be put down and I would be fined.

Something should be said about these kinds of incidents and how easy it is for dogs to turn when teased.

You could end up a dog attack victim when it could have been so easily avoided.
